
Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch Celebrated World AIDS Day -2016
Bhubaneswar : Every year on 1st December World AIDS Day is being celebrated by Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch. This year the theme of the day is “Hands up for # HIV Prevention ”. On this occasion Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB graced the function & welcome the Guests and expressed the volunteers to unite the people of the society in the fight against HIV & show their support for people living with HIV. He elaborated the topic of HIV prevention, treatment and care and support services. Besides, Life Members of Red Cross urged the volunteers to take up initiatives to motivate the people to increase awareness and prevention for the diseases of AIDs. Sri Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Programme Coordinator, MMU coordinated the programme and wishes the volunteers to come ahead to make a AIDs free society. Dr. Dilip Kumar Mohanty, Programme Officer, Health offered vote of thanks & Smt. Gourimani Biswal assisted the programme. At 5.30 P.M. Human Chain, Mashal & Candle light show on HIV/AIDS organized in front of Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. 250 Junior & Youth Red Cross Volunteers, Counsellors, Red Cross Members participated in the said programme and created awareness among the people on HIV/AIDS. The human chain & candle show was coordinated by Dr. Kalpana Das, Youth Red Cross Officer.
